Time to Blog more ...

Since my Social Media class at Humber ended (last April ... wow a year ago already!) I have not given blogging another thought - other than I should do it more. I hate doing something because I am told to do it, I would much rather do it for myself. Like when I was younger and I would have to read books for English class. I hated being told that I had a certain amount of time to read 5 chapters or I had to read/comprehend a book I had absolutely zero interest in. That is how I started feeling about blogging. Of course I wasn't going to enjoy it ... I was being told I had to do it!! Now that I think about it I love reading what other people have to say and I often find myself needing an outlet to share my thoughts (and my rants).

But I think my issue when it comes to blogging is that I make thinking about each new topic post a bigger issue than it is! I mean a blog is about anything, why do I have to sit and ponder what I want to write about. There are so many things going on in my life that I could share - the craziness that is the dance world, trying to work my way into the PR industry, being a twenty-something that really has no idea what will come next ... my list goes on! This is where my perfectionist thing is a problem. Why do my blog posts have to be the perfect idea or perfectly thought out?? I need to just not think about such things and just do.

Now that I somewhat have the time to do it ... I am going to force myself to blog! I am going to try to do what this blog was meant more - for me to share my unJADEd view about things that randomly pop into my life!! Here we go ...

... now just to think of a topic!!

Oops ... have to stop doing that!

SAVE THE DATE

OMG. This looks absofreakinlutely fabulous!

Here is the new trailer for Sex and the City 2 coming out on May 27

I thought the world was coming to an end when the series ended in 2004 but now I can stay up to date on my favourite characters' lives, even after the show has ended. Oh and I also have marathons every now and then thanks to my pretty pink DVD series box set!

Can not wait to see what is in store for Carrie ... esp since it looks like there may be some trouble for her and Big now that Aidan is back in the picture! Thoughts?

Empire State of Mind

Miranda : "Why do I think living in Manhattan is so fantastic?"
Carrie : "Because it is."
- Sex and the City

NEW YORK CITY.

I believe I was born to live there. There is nothing you can not do when you are in New York. The bright lights inspire me (yes I am quoting Jay-Z ... but he says it so perfectly) and there really is no other city that can compare. The lights, the sounds, the sights (but maybe not the smells) draw me in and there is no where I would rather be.

Spring in the city.

Since the weather was so beautiful (24°C and sunny) we took full advantage and rented a row boat in Central Park .

Even with the gorgeous weather (there were lots of people tanning in their bikinis) there were still patches of snow laying around the park.

We spent most of our time walking around the city - SHOPPING, eating, enjoying the sights and sounds and basically walking around loving life.

If you are planning a trip to NYC here are two places you NEED to go:

Pizza. A New York staple! If you are in the Soho area you have to go to Lombardi's - America's First Pizzeria since 1905. It is located at 32 Spring Street. The service was quick, friendly and the food was delicious. Take a look at their signature Margarita pizza ... delish.

Another NY favourite is Serendipity 3 - home to the famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. If you need somewhere to stop in for lunch or dessert this is a must! It has a cute atmosphere set by the Tiffany Lamps that hang from the ceiling and the boutique that sells just about everything when you walk in the front doors (I bought a cupcake necklace and a take home packet of the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate).

The one on the left is the original and the one on the right is mint flavor (had to have both!). Serendipity 3 is located at 225 E. 60th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave. You may want to make reservations before you go because it gets very busy, or you could always flash a smile and they may try to squeeze you in ;).

Here are a few more pictures from the trip:

If you have the chance make sure to visit New York! I promise you will have a fabulous time! xo
